Janet's TAKE: #FiftyShadesFreed comes to a merciful end with very little drama and suspense. Grade/C-

The acting is
consistent with the other two films in this series. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson turn up the heat in the numerous sex scenes, but the threat to their lives doesn't translate as menacing as in the book. I guess it's true what they say - sex sells.

Synopsis:
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Freed, the climactic chapter based on the worldwide bestselling “Fifty Shades” phenomenon.  Bringing to a shocking conclusion events set in motion in 2015 and 2017’s blockbuster films that grossed almost $950 million globally, the film arrives for Valentine’s Day 2018. Believing they have left behind shadowy figures from their past, newlyweds Christian and Ana fully embrace an inextricable connection and shared life of luxury.  But just as she steps into her role as Mrs. Grey and he relaxes into an unfamiliar stability, new threats could jeopardize their happy ending before it even begins. - Universal Pictures

Janet's TAKE: #2heartsthefilm depicts a based-on-a-true story in an unimaginative and formulaic way. While the effort is commendable in its message of sacrifice and service, it is entirely predictable. The main character (narrator) tries too hard to be charming and this feels forced. Janet's TAKE: Even though #Nomadland is a sad commentary on the effects of the recession in the last decade, it still brings an uplifting message of camaraderie, support and friendship for the nomadic lifestyle that exists in America today. Grade/A- Frances McDormand and David Strathairn expertly portray their characters alongside Chloé Zhao's portraiture-style direction that includes professional actors working with real people playing themselves and telling their stories. THE BROKEN HEARTS GALLERY movie review

Janet's TAKE: #BrokenHeartsGallery is a sweet and mostly engaging twenty-something romantic comedy.  You know exactly where it's going, but getting there with talented star Geraldine Viswanathan is the best part of this journey.  An optimistic date movie that is just what's needed today. The supporting cast is perfect for this genre and it's nice to see Bernadette Peters back on the screen.
