Janet's TAKE: THE MAN WHO INVENTED CHRISTMAS is an entertaining holiday movie with a clever blend of fact and fantasy.  A-

Good performances throughout, especially Dan Stevens and Christopher Plummer, leave you with
a renewed yuletide spirit and an appreciation of family and friends. A truly enjoyable story for the whole family.

Synopsis:
The Man Who Invented Christmas tells of the magical journey that led to the creation of Ebenezer Scrooge (Christopher Plummer), Tiny Tim and other classic characters from A Christmas Carol. Directed by Bharat Nalluri (MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY), the film shows how Charles Dickens (Dan Stevens) mixed real life inspirations with his vivid imagination to conjure up unforgettable characters and a timeless tale, forever changing the holiday season into the celebration we know today. -Bleeker Street

Janet's TAKE: #2heartsthefilm depicts a based-on-a-true story in an unimaginative and formulaic way. While the effort is commendable in its message of sacrifice and service, it is entirely predictable. The main character (narrator) tries too hard to be charming and this feels forced. There wasn't any chemistry between either of the two romances. If you are looking for a slightly above-average Lifetime style film, this should fit the bill. Janet's TAKE: #BrokenHeartsGallery is a sweet and mostly engaging twenty-something romantic comedy.  You know exactly where it's going, but getting there with talented star Geraldine Viswanathan is the best part of this journey.  An optimistic date movie that is just what's needed today. The supporting cast is perfect for this genre and it's nice to see Bernadette Peters back on the screen.
